Orientation and Navigation: Compass / compass
In this chapter we discuss a bearing compasses building, this we will use below in our examples.
The model we use here is a “Linseatischer bearing compasses” “US Ranger Compass” “Ranger Compass” “Hiking Compass” “marching compass” or “compass”,
you see, there are several names for the same model or models with the same properties in another version.
Featuring the compass is like any other compass with a compass needle http://opelz-blog.de/bokstaven-h/index.html ↗ , in this case, the compass needle a disk,
the compass rose, hung with all directions.
On the compass rose are also detailed figures, the outer row has a classification from 0 ° – 360 ° the inner row of numbers comprises a classification of 0 – 64.
Which we will use display with 360 degrees on the compass rose, the indication 0 – 64 is worden.
On created for military purposes the overlying disc which is rotatable, two-strokes are drawn that we use later for marking. In the models of the “Linseatischen Compass” is next to the Compass Rose still a Peilschlitz with which continues through wire, the visor wire.
Opposite there is the Peilschlitz again and a lens from the “Linseatische Compass” also has its name.
The side of the compass is a scale table which we will use to synchronize with the card in order to measure distances (in this case in the scale of 1 to 50,000 meters). Two lines are drawn that we use later for marking. In the models of the “Linseatischen Compass” is next to the Compass Rose still a Peilschlitz with which continues through wire, the visor wire.

Tolle Videos!
