Was ist ein Biwak?

Das Wort Biwak:

kommt aus dem französischen “bivouac” und bedeutet nichts weiter als “Feldlager” oder auch “Nachtlager”.

Die Bezeichnung Biwak kann für Hütten oder auch Zeltlager verwendet werden.

Das Wort Biwak dürfte uns am meisten bei Alpinismus und bei dem Militär zu Gehör kommen.

 

Alpinismus Biwak:

Im Alpinismus bedeutet Biwak entweder behelfsmäßig oder spartanisch ausgestattetes Lager auch in Notsituationen. 

Dies kann für eine überdachte Hütte stehen die “spartanisch” eingerichtet ist.

Auch eine Ungeplante Übernachtung auf dem Berg oder in der Wand beim Big-Wall Klettern gilt als Biwak. Hier werden meist Biwaksäcke oder portaledge verwendet. Portaledge ist ein Zelt das Mittel Karabiner und Sicherungen in der Wand angebracht wird.

 

Militär Biwak:

Der Aufbau und Erstellung eines Zeltlagers im freien. Militärische Biwaks werden auch spezifisch in der Geländeausbildung erprobt.

Bestehend aus Dackelgarage (First-Zelt), Schlafsack und meist auch dem bekannten  Not-Kocher von Esbit.

Bushcrafter / Waldläufer nutzen auch diese Form des übernachten in Biwaks. Jedoch greifen Bushcrafter zumeist auf natürliche mittel zurück.
